Difference Between words “House” and “Home”.

Today, we will learn the correct usage of the words “house” and “home”.

आज हम “house” और “home” शब्दों के सही इस्तेमाल के बारे में जानेंगे।

Aaj hum “house” aur “home” shabdo ke sahi istemaal ke baare mein jaanenge.





“House” and “home” both refer to residence but their usage depends on individual situations.

“House” and “home” दोनों निवास/मकान/घर का उल्लेख करते हैं, लेकिन उनका उपयोग व्यक्तिगत स्थितियों पर निर्भर करता है।

“House” and “home” dono nivaas/makaan/ghar kaa ullekh karte hain, lekin unka upyog vyaktigat sthitiyon par nirbhar karta hai.



We call “house” and “home” as “मकान”/”Makaan” and “घर”/”Ghar” in Hindi. The two words are often interchanged without even noticing.
 

हम हिंदी में “house” and “home” को "घर" और "मकान" कहते हैं। किंतु इन दोनों शब्दो को अक्सर आपस में बदल दिया जाता है।

Hum hindi mein “house” and “home” ko “ghar” aur “makaan” kehte hain. Kintoo in dono shabdo ko aksar aapas mein badal diya jata hai .



Let us look at some sample sentences to understand the difference:

आइए , अंतर को समझने के लिए कुछ examples वाक्यों को देखते हैं। :

Aayiye, antar ko samajne ke liye kuch examples vaakyon ko dekhte hain:





1. I am going to home.

2. He is going to home.

3. I am going to my friend’s house.

4. I am going to my uncle’s/aunt’s house.

5. Are you going to home late today?

6. We are going to home early.

7. They have all gone home.

8. We are going to home early .

9. They have all gone home.



When you want to express that it is your own residence, then the word "home" is used. The use of the word "to" is unnecessary with the word "home".

When you go to somebody's residence then the word "house" is used. We use the word "to" with “house”.  

जब आप व्यक्त करना चाहते हैं कि यह आपका अपना निवास है, तो "home" शब्द का उपयोग किया जाता है। "home" शब्द के साथ "to" शब्द का उपयोग अनावश्यक है।
जब आप किसी और के निवास पर जाते हैं तो "house" शब्द का उपयोग किया जाता है। हम "house " के साथ "to" शब्द का उपयोग करते हैं।

 
Jab aap vyakt karna chahte hain ki yah aapka apna nivaas hai, tou “home” shabd kaa upyog kiyaa jaata hai.
“home” shabd ke saath “to” shabd kaa upyog anavashyak hai.
Jab aap kisi aur ke nivaas par jaate hain tou “house” shabd kaa upyog kiya jata hai. Hum “house” ke saath “to” shabd ka upyog karte hain.




If you read the first sentence keeping in mind what I told you about the difference between “home” and “house”. The correct sentence will be: 

 
मैंने जो आपको अभी “home” और “house” के अंतर के बारे में बताया, यदि आप उसे ध्यान में रखते हुए पहले वाक्य को पढ़ें तो सही वाक्य होगा:


Maine jo aapko abhi “home” aur “house” ke antar ke baare mein bataya , yadi aap use dhyaan mein rakhte hue pehle vaakya ko pade to sahi vaakya hoga :



I am going home. And not (I am going to home. )

I am going home. ना की (I am going to home. )

I am going home. Naa ki (I am going to home. )



( because you are going to your own home, therefore, the word "home" should be used, and, with the word "home" the use of "to" is unnecessary.)
 

(क्योंकि आप अपने घर जा रहे हैं, इसलिए, "home" शब्द का उपयोग किया जाना चाहिए, और, "home" शब्द के साथ "to" का प्रयोग अनावश्यक है।)

(kyonki aap apne ghar ja rahe hain, islye, "home" shabd ka upyog kiya jaana chaahiye, aur, "home" shabd ke saath "to" ka upyog anaavashyak hai.)



Similarly, when we I want to express that some people are going home or our friends are going home, it means that these people are going to their own residences. Therefore, the word "home" should be used and, as I told earlier, the use of "to" is unnecessary when we use the word "home".

इसी तरह, जब हम यह व्यक्त करना चाहते हैं कि कुछ लोग घर या हमारे दोस्त अपने घर जा रहे हैं, इसका मतलब है कि ये लोग अपने निवासों पर जा रहे हैं। इसलिए, "home" शब्द का उपयोग किया जाना चाहिए और जैसा कि मैंने पहले बताया कि जब हम "home" शब्द का उपयोग करते हैं तो "to" का उपयोग अनावश्यक है।

Isi tarah, jab ham yah vyakt karna chahte hain ki kuch log ghar ya hamare dost apne ghar ja rahe hain, iska matlab yah hai ki ye log apne nivaason par ja rahe hain. Isliye, "home" shabd ka upyog kiya jaana chaahiye aur jaisa ki maine pehle bataya tha ki jab hum "home" shabd ka upyog karte hain tou "to" ka upyog karna anaavashyak hai.



So the correct the correct way to write sentence number 2 is:

तो वाक्य संख्या 2 लिखने का सही तरीका है:

tou vaaky sankhya 2 likhne ka sahi tareeka hai:



2. He is going home.

In the same way, if you read sentence number 3 and 4, it indicates that the subject is going to someone's residence, therefore the word "house" should be used and thus sentence number 3,4 and 9 are correct.  

उसी तरह, यदि आप वाक्य संख्या 3 और 4 को पढे , तो यह दर्शाता है कि subject किसी के निवास पर जा रहा है, इसलिए "house" शब्द का उपयोग किया जाना चाहिए और इस प्रकार वाक्य संख्या 3,4 और 9 सही हैं।


Usi tarah, yadi aap vaakya sankhya 3 aur 4 ko padte hain, tou yaha darshaata hai ki subject kisi ke nivaas par jaa raha hai, isliye “house” shabd kaa upyog kiya jana chahiye aur is prakaar vaakya sankhya 3,4 aur 9 sahi hai.



Thus, going by what we taught you in this lesson, sentence number 5 and 6 should be:

इस प्रकार, हमने आपको इस पाठ में जो पढ़ाया है, उसके अनुसार सही वाक्य संख्या 5 और 6 होने चाहिए:

Isi prakaar, humne aapko is paath mein jo padaya hai, uske anusaar sahee vaakya sankhya 5 aur 6 hone chahiye:



5. Are you going home early? And not: Are you going to home early?

Are you going home early? ना की: Are you going to home early?

Are you going home early? Naa ki: Are you going to home early?



6. We are going home early. And not: We are going to home early.

We are going home early. ना की : We are going to home early.

We are going home early. Naa ki : We are going to home early.
